Day Three...Not Much To Report.
Today was a super-fun day full of spending time with David's family, but it was also full of food and not exercising...meh. I'll have to make up for it! And now I must go to bed, as we lose an hour of sleep tonight and I have to get up early to begin with! Ick! Sorry for not being fun.

Day Two...TGIF!
Seriously, Thank Goodness It's Friday! My ankle is killing me and having 72 hours off will be fabulous! Today, I had the best intentions to get up early and go volunteer with some other people from work, teaching kids about coffee...but I had trouble sleeping last night and didn't want to go all day on 3 hours of sleep, so I ended up skipping out on that. I then slept until noon, when I had to get up and get ready for work at 1. Work was busy, busy, busy--coffeeshop in an outlet mall on a Friday, what else would you expect? Luckily, not too many crazy customers :P I forgot to eat lunch before work, but had a leftover bagel from yesterday. It was too busy to take a break for a while, so I'd just run to the back room and eat a bite or two here and there. Also drank lots of water, like I always do while at work.
After I finished work/errands, I went to the Y (two days in a row--a new record for me!). Rode the recumbent bike for 40 minutes today, then 50 more crunches on the exercise ball thingy (man, was I feeling those!), and a few different arm exercises on the machines. I feel like it was a good workout, because I got in my cardio and worked out my upper, middle, and lower body. Chinese food for dinner, and now just chilling. Feels so good to sit down and rest my ankle, and to curl up on the couch with my comfy jacket and a blanket--it is super-cold and rainy outside today!
I know tomorrow is gonna be bad food-wise...going to wonderful fiance's family reunion, where they always have a ton of delicious, unhealthy food. Hopefully I can still find time to work out somehow though. Excited to see my future sis-in-law and her husband though! :) It will be a fun day!

Day One...Again.
Maybe blogging about my adventures in trying to become healthy will help keep me more accountable for my actions. Who knows! But why not, right? Anyway, about me...
I'm a 23-year-old who's always felt uncomfortable in my skin. Ever since junior high I've felt self conscious and overweight, even when I wasn't. Lately I've felt like I've been stuck in a rut, and I want to get out of it! I'm also getting married in less than 9 months (ahh!) and feel a bit more motivated to change my lifestyle. I want to (and need to) lose weight and get healthier so that I can live a long and happy life with my best friend and fiance :)
So today began yet another attempt at beginning to get healthy. I went to the gym and worked out on the recumbent bike for about 20 minutes. It's cool because they have little TVs on every piece of cardio equipment, so I got to watch Criminal Minds while I was working out. Yesss! Then I did 50 crunches on the workout ball thingy (does it have a technical term?). I don't know what it is about crunches, but I love doing them! Even when it starts to hurt. I guess because I know that I'm doing something right if my muscles are burning. And I like that sore feeling I get the next day, because I feel like I'm going in the right direction. I ventured over to the weights area, but only used one machine. I was very sweaty and didn't want to have to clean all the machines after only using them for 30 minutes...lazy, I guess :/ But it's a start. I then came home and made a fruit smoothie with some spinach. My mom has a "Magic Bullet"...it's not very magical, as you have to blend things basically one at a time, or nothing will blend at all. So after the 15 minutes spent on making my smoothie, it wasn't all that amazing. Better find a good recipe for next time.
About to go work an 8-hour shift, where I'm sure I'll be standing around, running around, and trying to figure out something healthy to eat on my dinner break. Maybe today will really be Day One of the new me...send good vibes my way!
